Playing the first match in the fourth season of Hero Indian Super League, new team Bengaluru FC defeated Mumbai City FC. Commencing the ISL journey with a victorious approach, the team successfully beat Mumbai’s football club in the fourth match of ongoing Indian Super League. The match was played on Sunday, 19th November 2017 at Sree Kanteerava stadium in Bengaluru.
Taking the advantage of the support from fans on the homeground, Bengaluru’s football club donned massive aggressive stance since the first minute. Alongside imposing the aggression on rival team, the new ISL entrant also focused on defending the antagonist from proceeding towards their goal post.
Both teams performed superbly in first half of the game. The rivals managed to defend their opponents from scoring any goal in the initial 45 minutes. Till 66th minute, confrontation between the two sides was tougher. With the goal hit by Eduardo Martin on 67th minute, Bengaluru FC took lead in the game and made the match interesting for their fans.
26 minutes after the first goal, Bengaluru’s Sunil Chhetri hit one more goal and the match score was 2-0. Mumbai’s footballers ended up hitting no goals in this significant match. Bengaluru FC sealed three points from the victory in opening match. The team is going to play its next match Delhi Dynamos FC on 26th November 2017 at Sree Kanteerava stadium, which is situated in Bengaluru.
