Sixth match of Hero Indian Super League season 4 is going to be played between Chennaiyin FC and NorthEast United FC (NEUFC). The game is about to be played at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, which is situated in Chennai. The match is scheduled to commence at 8:00 PM on 23rd November 2017.
In the entire history of Indian Super League, both teams have played six head to head matches against each other. Defeating Chennai’s team for thrice, NorthEast United FC claimed most number of conquests in all seasons of ISL. Chennaiyin FC could win only match against NEUFC.
Owned by Vita Dani, Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan and Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Chennai’s soccer team maintained a nice track record by showcasing admirable performances in all seasons of ISL. Under coach Marco Materazzi, the team became champions for the first time in 2015. Chennaiyin FC defeated Goa’s team in the final match of 2nd edition of ISL.
Winning maximum number of games in first two leagues, Chennai’s team successfully managed to attain strong positions in the list of top four teams in ISL standings. With decline in performances, the team’s rank dropped to bottom place in the third season. On other side, NEUFC witnessed gradual improvement in its ranks in ISL points table throughout all editions of the soccer league.
Chennaiyin FC appointed former England midfielder John Charles Gregory as its new football manager for the upcoming season of Hero ISL. Under his guidance, Chennai’s football club is expected to win maximum number of matches to create new records in the fourth edition of Indian Super League.
In opening season of ISL, NorthEast United FC couldn’t win enough matches to gain a good rank in the standings. The team showcased better performance in 2nd season and improved its rank in the table. In 3rd edition of ISL, NEUFC’s performance was steady as it didn’t witness either growth or declination in its position in points table.
In 1st season of Indian Super League, Channaiyin FC secured first rank in the standings by winning 6 matches and NorthEast United FC bagged 8th position by achieving victories in 3 games. Chennai’s team faced defeats in three matches while NEUFC lost 5 games. Chennaiyin FC and FC Goa earned 23 and 15 points, respectively.
In ISL season 2, NorthEast United FC won 6 matches. On other hand, Chennaiyin FC also sealed victories in seven matches. NEUFC faced defeats in 2 games while Chennai’s team lost six matches. With 20 points, NorthEast United FC achieved 5th rank in ISL points table. Earning 22 points, Chennaiyin FC grabbed 3rd position in the same table.
In 3rd season of Hero ISL, Chennai’s team showcased poor performance in some matches. On other hand, NEUFC comparatively performed well. NorthEast United FC earned 18 points from 5 victories and attained 5th position in points table while Channaiyin FC grabbed seventh place in the same table by earning 15 points.
After analysing the total performances of NorthEast United FC and Chennaiyin FC, it seems that Chennai’s FC faced massive drop in its performance by the end of third season of ISL. While NEUFC witnessed consistency in the level of its performance throughout all seasons of ISL. It will be very much interesting to see how smartly the two FCs are going to implement their strategies in the sixth match of fourth season of Hero Indian Super League.
