Match 20 : FC Goa vs Kerala Blasters FC Date, Venue, Time, Preview

FC Goa is all set to take on Kerala Blasters FC in the twentieth match of ongoing Hero Indian Super League tournament at Jawaharlal Nehru stadium, which is situated in Goa. The soccer match is scheduled to commence at 8:00 PM IST on 9th December this year.

Till now, Goa’s football club has played six matches against Kerala Blasters. Performing excellently, both teams won three matches. Loosing three games out of 6 matches played against each other, both teams maintained balanced statistics of victories and defeats in their head-to-head clashes.

Owned by Jaydev Mody, Indian cricketer Virat Kohli and Venugopal Dhoot, FC Goa failed to maintain consistency in its performance in all seasons of ISL. Under the guidance of Brazilian footballer Zico, the team performed awesomely in the first two seasons of ISL. Till present date, Goa’s soccer team has not won a single title.

After showcasing appreciable performance in opening season of India’s domestic football league, Goa City football club exhibited consistent performance in the second edition of ISL. But, the soccer team didn’t manage to win maximum number of matches in the third season of the league.

Early this year, FC Goa appointed Spanish footballer Sergio Lobera Rodríguez as the new manager for the ongoing edition of ISL. In ISL’s 4th season, Goa’s team is expected to perform well under his mentorship and training. 20th match of ISL 2017-18 will be FC Goa’s first game against Kerala Blasters FC in this year’s Indian Super League.

Owned by popular film stars Chiranjeevi, Akkineni Nagarjuna and famous Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, Kerala Blasters FC couldn’t maintain consistency in its performance in all editions of ISL. Under the guidance of coach David James and Peter Taylor, the team performed well in first and second edition of the league. However, the team failed to impress its fans and supporters in 2nd season of the league. Till now, Kerala’s football team has not won a single title.

Kerala’s FC faced many ups and downs in its total performance in all 3 editions of ISL. In the initial season, the team performed quite well and secured 4th rank in the list of top four best performer teams. Showcasing poor performance in next edition, Kerala Blasters FC’s rank slipped to the bottom position in ISL standings. The team improved its performance in the following season of ISL and bagged the second position in the points table.

Dutch soccer-player René Meulensteen has been appointed as the new football manager of Kerala Blasters football club for the ongoing season of ISL. Under his pivotal mentorship and guidance, Kerala Blasters FC is expected to showcase good performance in this season of Hero Indian Super League.

In 1st edition of Indian Super League, performance of Goa FC reached to the height of success. The team sealed victories in six matches and lost four games in the league stage. Earning 22 points with its excellent performance in the tournament, FC Goa bagged 2nd place in the points table.

In the second season of ISL, Goa’s football team continued to showcase progress in its performance and registered victories in seven matches. The team faced defeats in four games. Earning 25 points from 7 victories, Goa’s team secured 1st rank in ISL 2015 points table.

In ISL 2016, FC Goa won only four games. Loosing eighth matches in the tournament, the team failed to maintain consistency in its performance and earned 14 points. With such dull performance, FC Goa’s rank declined to the bottom position in the standings. That’s why the team could not qualify for the semi-finals in the third season of Hero Indian Super League.

Playing 14 matches in league stage, Kerala Blasters FC won five matches in opening season of ISL. The team faced defeats in 5 games and secured 4th rank in point table. Kerala’s team earned 19 points from five victories in ISL 2014. Failing to maintain consistency in the overall performance, Kerala’s team won only three matches in second season of ISL. The team played fourteen matches and faced defeats in seven games.

Ending four matches with equal scores, the team earned 13 points. In ISL 2016, Kerala’s football team surprisingly improved its performance by winning 6 matches in league stage and sealed the second spot in points table. Facing defeats in four matches, the soccer club earned 22 points.
