Indian Super League (ISL) team Pune City FC defeated I-League side East Bengal by 2-1 in the friendly match played on 31st October 2017. The game was played on Monday at the Balewadi Stadium, which is situated in Pune.
Jonatan Lucca and Emiliano Alfaro, who are considered as the key footballers in Pune’s team, hit consecutive goals in initial 20 minutes and helped their team in acquiring a good hold over the match. On other hand, East Bengal’s team had to struggle hard to score the goals.
The I-League team’s player Mahmoud Al Amna, who plays as a midfielder in Syrian soccer team, got an opportunity in 71st minute to hit a goal from the penalty spot. Amna managed to hit the goal and his entire team endeavoured to equalise the score till the last moment.
Bengal’s team tried its best to level the match results, but didn’t get any chance to dominate the opposite side as the opponents were defending their every attack smartly. Thus, the team ended up scoring only one goal in the game and failed to defeat the antagonists.
Coached by Khalid Jamil, East Bengal FC has been playing the pre-season friendly matches since last five days. The team drew its first friendly match against Bengaluru FC which was played at the Kanteerava Stadium. In second match, the team didn’t succeed in defeating the opponents and lost the game.
