Match 16 : Kerala Blasters FC vs Mumbai City FC Date, Time, Venue, Preview

Sixteenth match of Hero Indian Super League 2017-18 will be played between Kerala Blasters FC and Mumbai City FC on 3rd December 2017 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, which is located in popular south Indian city Kochi. As per the local time, the football match is scheduled begin at 8:00 PM.

Kerala Blasters FC and Mumbai City FC have played six head to head matches in the history of ISL. Kerala Blasters managed to win only one game against Mumbai’s soccer team. Mumbai City FC won two matches and drew one match against Kerala’s football club. Mumbai’s team seems to have performed comparatively better than Kerala’s FC.

Owned by famous celebrities Chiranjeevi and Akkineni Nagarjuna as well as Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, Kerala Blasters FC hasn’t been a consistent performer in all editions of ISL. Under coach Peter Taylor and David James, the team performed well in third and first season of the tournament. The team’s performance was not up to the mark in 2nd season of the league. Till now, Kerala’s football team has not won a single title.

Kerala’s FC witnessed ups and downs in its overall performance in all three seasons of ISL. In the first season, the team performed quite well and bagged 4th rank in the list of top four best performer teams. Showcasing decent performance in season 2, Kerala Blasters FC remained at the bottom position in ISL points table. The team improved its performance in the next edition of ISL and achieved the second place in the standings.

Dutch footballer René Meulensteen has been appointed as the new football manager of Kerala Blasters FC for the forthcoming season of ISL. Under his mentorship and training, Kerala Blasters football team is expected to perform well and create a new record in this season of Hero Indian Super League.

Owned by Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor and other personalities like Bimal Parekh, Wilhelm Kayque G. Saldanha, Mumbai’s football team improved its performance consistently in all seasons of ISL. Under the mentorship of Nicolas Anelka and Peter Reid, the team didn’t manage to attain top rank in the points table of first 2 seasons of Hero Indian Super League.

Under the guidance of new coach Diego Forlán, the team’s performance grew surprisingly in the third season. Mumbai City FC succeeded in attaining the top position in ISL 2016 points table. However, the team couldn’t reach into the final game in any season of the league.

By winning four matches, Mumbai City FC secured 7th position in the points table in first edition of ISL. Kerala Blasters FC secured 4th position by acquiring victories in 5 matches. Mumbai’s team lost six games in the league. Kerala’s FC also faced defeats in 5 matches. Mumbai City FC earned 16 points while Kerala Blasters FC ended up bagging 19 points.

In ISL 2015, Mumbai City FC clinched victories in 4 matches. On other side, Kerala Blasters FC conquered 3 matches. Mumbai’s team faced defeats in 4 matches while Kerala’s football team lost seven games. With 16 points, Mumbai City FC held 6th rank in ISL point table. Earning 13 points, Kerala Blasters FC secured 8th rank in the same chart.

In 3rd season of Indian Super League, Kerala Blasters FC showcased excellent performance in some matches. Mumbai City FC also exhibited admirable performance and earned 23 points from 6 victories. Mumbai’s team topped the points table while Kerala’s soccer club grabbed second rank in the same table by earning 22 points.
