Match 8 : Mumbai City FC vs FC Goa Date, Time, Venue, Preview

Eighth match of Hero Indian Super League 2017 is about to be played between Mumbai City FC and FC Goa. The game is going to be played at Mumbai Football Arena, which is located in Mumbai. The match is slated to start at 8:00 PM on 25th November 2017.

In the entire history of Hero ISL, both teams have faced each other in six head to head games. Defeating Mumbai’s team for two times, FC Goa claimed most number of victories. Mumbai City FC won only one match against the football club of Goa city.

Owned by Wilhelm Kayque G. Saldanha, Bimal Parekh and Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor, Mumbai’s football club failed to perform well in initial two seasons, but its performance improved in third season of ISL. Under coach Alexandre Guimarães, the team managed to reach into semi-finals of ISL season 3.

On other hand FC Goa performed excellently in the initial two editions of Hero Indian Super League. The team didn’t manage to win sufficient number of matches in the third season of ISL and ended up bagging bottom position in the standings. FC Goa confronted with Chennaiyin FC in the final match of ISL 2015 and lost the game.

Former Spanish footballer Sergio Lobera has been appointed as the new coach of team FC Goa for the forthcoming season of Hero ISL. Under his guidance and mentorship, Goa’s football team is expected to showcase a good performance and create exciting new records in the 4th season of Indian Super League.

FC Goa has maintained a good track record with its admirable performances against all other teams in ISL tournament. The team succeeded in reaching to final match in the second season of Hero ISL. Losing the final match of ISL 2015 against Chennaiyin FC, Goa’s team ended its ISL journey as runners-up.

In ISL 2014, Mumbai City FC acquired 7th rank the standings by winning 4 matches and FC Goa bagged 2nd position by achieving victories in six games. Mumbai’s team lost six matches while FC Goa faced defeats in 4 games. Mumbai City FC and FC Goa earned 16 and 22 points, respectively.

In second season of Indian Super League, FC Goa won 7 matches. On other hand, Mumbai City FC attained victories in four matches. Goa’s team faced defeats in 3 games while Mumbai’s team lost four matches. With 25 points, FC Goa secured 1st rank in ISL points table. Earning 16 points, Mumbai FC grabbed sixth position in the same chart.

In 3rd edition of Hero ISL, Mumbai’s team showcased improvement in its performance while FC Goa faced abrupt decline in its performance. FC Goa earned 14 points from 4 victories and attained 8th position in points table while Mumbai FC grabbed first place in the same table by earning 23 points. The team won 6 matches and faced defeats in just three games.

After seeing the overall statistics of Mumbai City FC and FC Goa, it seems that Mumbai’s football club performed well only in third season of ISL while FC Goa’s performance was better in only first two seasons of the league. 8th match of ISL 4 will be the second game of both teams in the tournament.
