Second game of Hero Indian Super League season 4 is going to be played between NorthEast United FC and newly introduced ISL team – Jamshedpur FC. The match will be played at Indira Gandhi Athletic stadium, which is situated in Guwahati. The match is slated to start at 8:00 PM on 18th November 2017.

The two teams haven’t faced each other in the history of ISL. No record or statistics about the performances of these teams is available as the teams have never played any head-to-head match against each other. Jamshedpur FC will be playing its first match in this edition of Hero ISL.

Owned by Shillong Lajong Football Club and Bollywood actor John Abraham, NorthEast United FC has not been a consistent performer in all seasons of ISL. Under coach João de Deus, the team faced massive variations in the number of victories and losses in all three seasons of the league. Till now, the team has not won a single title.

After showcasing poor performance in initial edition of India’s domestic football league, the team improved its performance in second season. However, NorthEast United FC (NEUFC) never reached to the final match of any edition of Indian Super League due its poor performances.

Portuguese footballer Nelo Vingada has been appointed as the new manager of team NEUFC for the upcoming edition of ISL. Under his guidance and mentorship, NorthEast United football club is expected to perform well and create a new record in the overall statistics in the history of ISL.

On other hand, Jamshedpur FC is the new team in the fourth season of Hero Indian Super League. Owned by Tata Steel, the team will make its debut in ISL this year. Former English footballer Steve Coppell has been appointed as the head coach of Jamshedpur FC for this season of Indian Super League.

In ISL 2014, performance of NorthEast United FC wasn’t up to the mark. The team won only three matches and faced defeats in five games. Earning 15 points with its overall performance in the league, NorthEast United FC was at the bottom position in the points table.

In 2nd edition of Indian Super League, NorthEast United improved its performance and won six matches. Loosing only two games, the team grabbed strong position in top four best performers in ISL 2015 standings. NEUFC earned 20 points from the 6 victories and attained 4th rank in the points table.

With further drop in the overall performances, NorthEast United FC registered victories in five matches in ISL 2016. Facing defeats in six games, the team failed to break its own record of earning 20 points in previous season. However, NEUFC secured fifth rank in the standings by earning 18 points in the third edition of Hero Indian Super League.

After observing the overall performance of NorthEast United FC, it seems that the team has been witnessing ups and downs in its performance in all seasons of ISL. On other side, Jamshedpur FC is all set to make its debut in India’s domestic soccer league this year. The team is expected to perform well in its first game of this football tournament.
